rocket science
Boat building may not exactly be rocket science but it helps to have that kind of knowledge in the design team. While it's a long way from the Black Knight rocket team in Farnborough, UK to Fulcrum Boat in Raleigh NC, our founder and chief designer has made that journey with notable stops along the way.
From the initial concept for the Fulcrum Boat product range we knew that we had to combine practical usefulness with a distinct modern style that would set our boats apart from the standard "commercial box" designs so common in the aluminum boat market, especially when looking at landing craft. At every stage, for every model, we surpassed anything currently available. In some cases our efforts improved on existing designs. In others our products turned out to be totally unique. Not one of our boats can be described as "just another....". Regardless of type or purpose, all Fulcrum models include the unique patented Bow Door and Folding Ramp system that is our signature.
A good example of this philosophy is the "Axxess" line that is completely focused on the disabled or handicapped boater. All these "Axxess" models are designed to provide full deck access to chair-bound individuals and the 42 foot cabin cruiser has an accommodating full size bathroom with a full wheelchair width door and space to spin a chair inside.
