AXXESS MODELS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Fulcrum Boat Corporation's redesign of their 6.6 meter, 26 foot, 30 foot, 36 foot and 42 foot hulls has opened up boating to a sizeable group of people, those who are confined to wheelchairs and were unable to board a conventional motor boat and those who, though not chair bound, suffer from limited mobility for any number of reasons.  By incorporating a wheelchair ramp into our opening bow door design all of these boats offer ease of boarding direct from the dock and then, when safely aboard, the door is closed so that the boat looks and handles exactly like a traditional vessel.  The layout of the Axxess boats enables full access to all parts of the deck area and even allows operation and control from a wheelchair .  The 6.6 meter (21'9") boat is designed so that the aft deck is clear for fishing experiences.  If the main use of the boat is for salt water fishing, the optional hardtop can include mechanisms to provide power layout and retrieval of a pair of 15' outriggers.
The 30 foot and 36 foot hulls are designed for much the same purpose as the smaller 6.6m except that by having center consoles they allow full access fore and aft on both sides and if the hardtop version is selected there are no side supports, the whole top being supported off the console structure. These sizes also allow for improved on board amenities.  Finally, the 42 foot hull appears to be the smallest size that will provide a cabin cruiser layout at one deck level while allowing the inclusion of a full size head/bathroom with a 32" wide sliding door and interior room for a wheelchair to swing around.

These innovative recreational craft offer a degree of freedom that has not been available previously. While the hull shape is the same as other boats in the Fulcrum portfolio, the layout is designed for purpose with the customers needs in mind at all times. As our development efforts move forward, new aspects of our basic designs become available, in particular advances in bow/ramp technology.  We now have three very unique door actuation methods ranging from our original vertical opening one piece door to side opening split doors swinging on a multi point linkage or a system where split doors slide back on tracks similar to automotive van doors.
